What to check when comparing quotesHow do I request a quote to build a house?
To request a house construction quote, state where the land is, the planned built floor area, number of storeys and whether you already have an architectural project. With plans and a specifications document, building companies can define line items more clearly and reduce differences between offers.
What should the quote include?
Review earthworks, foundations, structure, roof, façade, installations and finishes. Check what the kitchen includes, whether there is exterior landscaping and whether a pool, garage or basement are covered. Ask for taxes, fees and exclusions to be shown separately.
Compare building companies as well as prices
Compare the scope of each proposal, quality levels, schedule, payment milestones and warranties. Request current documentation and check who is responsible for each phase. A lower price may reflect missing line items that another offer includes.
How much does it cost to build a house?
