Have a building project?
Agree a commission for referring it.
Know someone planning building work or a renovation? Introduce the opportunity and request a commercial commission, with the terms recognised in a contract.
If an estate agency, interior designer or another collaborator has a client who needs a builder, they may submit a proposal. The work and the possibility of a commercial commission for the collaborator will be assessed with a collaborating building company.

One opportunity, a clear agreement.
Introduce the opportunity
Explain who you are, where the work is located and what the client needs. Do not include the client’s name, phone number, exact address or documents in this initial enquiry.
The collaboration is reviewed
Feasibility, contractor availability and your commercial contribution will be reviewed, along with authorisations and potential conflicts of interest.
The commission is agreed in writing
If the collaboration is accepted, an agreement will be signed with the collaborating building company to recognise the collaborator’s commission and specify how and when it is paid. This will be formalised before sharing client data or treating the commission as accepted.
What to agree before referring a client
Can you earn a commission for referring a building project?
Remuneration may be agreed for a genuine and lawful commercial introduction. Each case will be reviewed with the collaborating building company and the terms documented before formalising the collaboration. Submitting the form does not by itself create a right to commission.
What commission can be agreed for a project?
There is no advertised percentage or guaranteed amount. The agreement will identify the project and referral, the amount or percentage and calculation basis, who must pay, when entitlement arises, due dates and the handling of taxes, cancellations or non-payment. Applicable law will be respected.
How is the commission settled?
This will be reviewed with the collaborating building company. If the platform is to manage settlement, the agreement must expressly state this instruction, who is liable for payment and the terms. Payment will require the agreed milestones and evidence, and the appropriate invoice or tax documentation. This management relates exclusively to the agreed commercial commission. Payments for the work are made directly between the client and the construction company.
Can architects, interior designers and estate agencies collaborate?
The collaboration will be assessed against each professional’s activity and obligations. Independence, transparency and incompatibility rules must be respected. For architects, supplementary commissions require verifiable, unambiguous client authorisation and no conflict of interest. Hidden payments or commissions for improperly influencing an award are not accepted.
The commercial collaboration does not replace the building contract between the client and contractor or the responsibilities of technical professionals. Each agreement must be reviewed in light of its professional, contractual and tax circumstances.
