What to review to manage the budget
Ask the technical team for alternatives in floor area, layout and finishes before finalising the design. Compare each option at the same performance level and note the cost difference.
- Required floor area and spaces you can simplify.
- Ground conditions, access and proposed foundations.
- Specified finishes and alternatives priced separately.
- Optional features you can postpone.
What the total cost should include
Separate the plot price from the construction budget. Ask for design, surveys, site supervision, administrative procedures, taxes, utility connections and external works to be identified, stating who commissions them and whether they are included.
Do not compare a structure or kit with a finished home. For a turnkey offer, also check exclusions, quantities, schedule and payment terms.
How to compare two building companies
Give both companies the same documents and a specification list. Mark each item as included, excluded or awaiting a price; ask for the cost differences in writing before deciding.
Constructores.com connects clients with independent companies. Requesting quotes is free; coverage and availability are checked for each project. You agree the final price with the company.
