What can a complete renovation include?
The scope may cover demolition, a new layout, replacement installations, floors, wall coverings, windows and doors, kitchen and bathrooms. Not all offers include the same work: ask for a line-item list of work and materials.
Describe which elements will be kept and which replaced. When you have a project or measurements, provide them to all companies so there is a common basis for comparison.
Plan before comparing prices
Prioritise the home's needs before choosing finishes. Where you cook, how you move around and which spaces need light or storage help define the layout. An AI image can guide the style, but feasibility must be checked by a professional.
Clarify whether you will live in the property during the work. Access, the lift and protection of communal areas affect how the work is organised.
- Floor area and current condition of the property.
- Changes to layout and installations.
- Included materials and equipment.
- Desired date and conditions of use during the work.
Review the schedule and changes
Ask the company to explain the phases and how it will coordinate trades, supplies and deliveries. The timeframe should match the actual scope and property's conditions.
Agree in writing on how changes will be approved and which documents will be provided when the work is completed. Before starting, ask your technical adviser and local council which procedures apply to your work.
