What to provide for a wall assessment
Give the municipality, approximate length and height, level difference and machinery access. Explain whether there is an existing wall, nearby buildings or visible water. Photographs help the initial discussion; they cannot be used to design a structure.
What affects the quotation
Ask for excavation, foundations, structure, drainage, backfill and soil removal to be itemised. Ground conditions, working space and the solution specified by the technician determine the scope. A price per metre without these conditions does not allow offers to be compared.
Before choosing a company
Share the same project documents and quantities with companies when available. Check experience with similar work, insurance, exclusions, timescales and who handles technical services and permits. If the wall shows movement or falling material, request an on-site assessment before arranging routine building work.
